As a vendor we know that it’s our job to make our clients happy; if they’re happy then we can stay in business. It’s pretty much as simple as that… at least, it would be that simple if the relationship was a two way street. And, a lot of that relationship comes down to respect. […]
“If you wanna just do hand stuff with me, that’s OK.” – Overheard on set
Well, it’s 3 months into the “new year”, and we (like many) have been quite busy. So busy in fact, that we haven’t had a chance to publicly reflect upon the past year, to give thanks for support of friends & family, or even declare our resolutions through all our social channels & admit defeat […]
“It wasn’t like 40 douches trying to out-douche each other” – Overheard in the Office
“Oh, you can Produce all over me.” - Overheard in the Office
Big Teeth Original Work SXSW: A Day in the Line
Check out this animated short (by yours truly) for a glimpse into the adventure that you “interactive”-types can expect along your trip. Is it the coolest party with naked life-size baby dolls and seizure-inducing lights+house music you’re looking forward to? Or perhaps fulfilling your [now] lifelong goal of meeting Grumpy Cat in the fur (because why would it not be?)? Either way, it’s no doubt that SXSW is full of cool events, ideas, delicious food and bizarre appearances; but one thing remains the same… LINES.
Keep that smart phone handy and peep this video. You just might relate.
In the world of office-based working humans, office celebrations have become a given of sorts. Between holidays, birthdays of colleagues, company anniversaries, or Winniversaries – celebrating years spent with your beloved office pooch –, it’s important to mark certain occasions with thought & care as you would for any other humans you care for & interact with. […]
Big Teeth Work: Glass Mountain Brand Animation
A brief introduction to the new look of Glass Mountain Wine, who wanted to appeal to the young outdoorsy man. Through this animated piece we wanted to show the world of Glass Mountain once the bottle is opened. To further brand each varietal (Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet) we represented each with it’s own unique activity and color scheme for it’s corresponding scene.
Can prospective clients piss you off even if you never work with them? Sadly… yes. But one of my biggest pet peeves with prospects could be resolved in about 10 seconds with one easy solution. I have a major issue when prospective clients don’t have the decency to simply call or email when not awarding […]
A lot of web series happening today are actually branded content – incorporating a brand or product into a piece of entertainment for marketing purposes. I know, sounds icky, but really wouldn’t you rather watch something good with a subtle marketing message than be interrupted with commercials? What I wonder though is, will brands only […]
I wrote a blog a little over a year ago stating that SEO might not be useful because it can result in more bad leads that ultimately take up time and go nowhere. After a recent experience I’m inclined to take it a step further and posit that good SEO could now be a detriment […]
Sales is about getting in front of the right people and explaining to them why they need what you are selling. Face to face is great – but video is a close runner up. John Jantsch from Duct Tape Marketing joined me recently for a joint webinar called “Why Marketing is the New Selling.” In […]
I believe it was Olivier who said, aside from Hamlet the other truly great role for an actor is Santa Claus. This holiday season I was fortunate enough to be Hamlet, er.., Santa! To set the tone, here’s a short transcript of a conversation from the film “Miracle on 34th Street” between a young janitor […]
Is Louis CK changing the scope of content distribution for good? In what appears to be Earth shattering news (if my twitter stream is to be believed), Louis CK – the often acerbic, always hilarious stand-up comedian slash sitcom star/writer/director/editor released his latest Stand-up show as a $5 download directly from his own website. It […]
If you ever visit the World Wide Web, and I’m guessing you do since you’re reading this, then you’ve probably seen an explainer video. An explainer is a short (under two minutes) animated video that, not surprisingly, explains how a product works or what a new/start-up company does. These have become very popular in the […]
In my previous post, I discussed the learning process for us with stop motion animation. Though we dabbled, there were still lessons to be learned. Mainly about the importance of time, and that there’s never enough. But with lots of practice we made it through the shoot with two spots to be proud of. The […]
We recently shipped our first stop motion animation project in the form of two commercial spots for Ron of Japan, a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant in Northbrook, IL. This was a process that I put a lot into but also took a lot out of. I grew up watching Gumby battle the blockheads and Rudolph the red […]
